Is there anyway i can alter my preferences while i`m in gridcoin? I would prefer just to get 16e work but get all 3 by default.
Comp id = 7062836
If not, sorry to abort the 14 and 15e.

Go here:

https://escatter11.fullerton.edu/nfs/prefs.php?subset=project

And set to:

lasieved - app for RSALS subproject, uses less than 0.5 GB memory: no
lasievee - work nearly always available, uses up to 0.5 GB memory: no
lasievef - used for huge factorizations, uses up to 1 GB memory: yes
lasieve5f - used for huge factorizations, uses up to 1 GB memory: yes

Or if you’re running under other account just request the admin of it to create different NFS profiles( default, home, school, etc) allocating the settings mentioned above to one of the profiles. Then on your machine set it to it.

Just testing out gridcoin to see how much help I get in running a server (costing £5 a day !) but I dont think its much

Unless your computer is a super computer you won't make back what you pay to run your pc thru Gridcoin, or any other coin thing, but what you can do is offset some of the cost. How much depends on how fast your pc is compared to all the other pc's running the same task and sharing in the 'rewards'. Basically when the task is completed Gridcoin figures out how many pc's crunched for that time period that were signed up thru them and therefore eligible for rewards, the more pc's signed up the lower the rewards for each pc. Because of some variables they may do it at the end of the day/week/etc instead of the end of a wu but you get the idea. Perhaps someone from Gridcoin can give you the exact details.

Check that it's logged in the same account as your GC account, that would be the main reason it's not showing up.

Also check the Venue it's in ie default, home, work, school.
