A multisensory learning technique

A multisensory learning technique

Since we are all different, we also process information differently. Dyslexics, for example, have to be specifically taught what other people's brains absorb automatically from what they hear and see, for example, the connection between letters and sounds (what is called decoding).

As a result of their difficulty to acquire reading and writing skills, their reading comprehension is often impaired too. Not being able to read or being slow readers affects their school performance, social status, self esteem, behavior and so on. And it starts snowballing if not being treated on time.

The technique I'm using is a multisensory, cumulative, phonic based technique which involves touch, sight, sound, kinesthetics, visualization, which all improve reading fluency and boosts the student's self esteem. Quite often Dyslexics are also ADD and it's hard for them to be busy with one long reading assignment for too long. Even if they are not ADD, they may manifest ADD-like symptoms - lack of concentration, anger outbursts and even depression, mostly because of their frustration.

The technique I'm using is pretty effortless and allows the student to experience success. The lessons are dynamic and fun.

I believe in using versatile techniques in order to make the lessons intriguing and help the student stay concentrated and in control.
