Both my teammate and i are also getting ALOT of these errors, I'm getting them on the 14e tasks while my teammate is getting them on the 15e for smaller numbers tasks

We've largely cleared out the smaller numbers in the established factoring projects over the years. It's mostly used now to slowly work through the smaller near-repdigits or if a needed, appropriately-sized Odd Perfect or Aliquot number comes up.

Okay that makes sense thanks!!

Why are there so few of the 14 type tasks sent out as compared to all the other kinds of tasks?

Thanks for the advance notice!

And as of right now, 10:20amEST there are zero tasks available for any of the different types of applications.

That particular number, 283831_43m1, is triggering an error in the siever at an unusually high rate. Not sure why the error rate is so high, but it will pass in a day or so. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So I should just power thru them then? Because I switched the pc's having problems to another project and would LOVE to bring them back here!!

Has something changed? I am having some major computation error problems across several pc's!!

Yes all the machines see to be Linux ones but NOT all of my Linux machines are having problems.

7) Message boards : Questions/Problems/Bugs : Errors when reporting tasks! (Message 2230)

Hi!
I've 3 computers running NFS (Mac Pros with MacOs 10.14) an 1 have problems!
Preferences are the same on the 3 computers and no problems with other projects!
The first time I've seen the problem, I restart the project....... Problem not solved!!
The 2nd time (a few days later) , I remove / re-add the project...... Not better, not solved!!
Between the 2 tries, I restart the computer.
Each time I lost more than 1000 calculated WUs!!!

I've that error :
Dim 29 aoû 22:23:07 2021 | NFS@Home | update requested by user
Dim 29 aoû 22:23:08 2021 | NFS@Home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
Dim 29 aoû 22:23:08 2021 | NFS@Home | Reporting 39 completed tasks
Dim 29 aoû 22:23:08 2021 | NFS@Home | Not requesting tasks: too many runnable tasks
Dim 29 aoû 22:23:09 2021 | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
Dim 29 aoû 22:23:09 2021 | NFS@Home | Scheduler request failed: Failed sending data to the peer
Dim 29 aoû 22:23:10 2021 | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

Somebody have an idea??

Thx!

I looked at your pc and the error message is you didn't start the tasks before the deadline, I did not go thru all 1100 tasks with problems but the first 5 pages of problems were all the same. NFS gives us very short deadlines sometimes, your were 3 days, and maybe your cache size is too big on that pc to handle that short of a deadline?

These lines also suggest your cache size is too big on that pc:
Dim 29 aoû 22:23:08 2021 | NFS@Home | Reporting 39 completed tasks
Dim 29 aoû 22:23:08 2021 | NFS@Home | Not requesting tasks: too many runnable tasks

The Server thinks you have too many tasks in your cache to finish them on time so it's not sending you any new tasks. This can also happen if you run other Projects tasks at the same time.

Ok done that, but the problem is my pc is not listed in "Your Computers" so i get sent all types of work still.
Just testing out gridcoin to see how much help I get in running a server (costing £5 a day !) but I dont think its much

Check that it's logged in the same account as your GC account, that would be the main reason it's not showing up.

Also check the Venue it's in ie default, home, work, school.

Thank you

I realize this is an old thread but can you also tell us which ones are for 15 and 16?

Unless your computer is a super computer you won't make back what you pay to run your pc thru Gridcoin, or any other coin thing, but what you can do is offset some of the cost. How much depends on how fast your pc is compared to all the other pc's running the same task and sharing in the 'rewards'. Basically when the task is completed Gridcoin figures out how many pc's crunched for that time period that were signed up thru them and therefore eligible for rewards, the more pc's signed up the lower the rewards for each pc. Because of some variables they may do it at the end of the day/week/etc instead of the end of a wu but you get the idea. Perhaps someone from Gridcoin can give you the exact details.
