Nice work on handling the Pentathlon Javelin discipline. I think this is one of the most difficult disciplines for a project to handle and the NFS server did a pretty good job of it. Though I do have some questions that can possibly lead to some solutions. It's with my understanding the the overload was on the disk I/O. Meaning the CPU, RAM, Network and everything else wasn't the bottleneck. What is the disk(s) type and configuration for the server? Also what motherboard does the server use? Asking this, because I think the BOINC community can help with getting that part of the server upgraded to something that can handle such events such as NVMe SSDs. |

Project Admin(s) BOINCGames.com has a Sprint coming up in approx. 14 hours: Skiing Alpine World Ski Championships 02/15/2023 14:00 (UTC) - 02/19/2023 14:00 (UTC) Your project is elgible for being randomly selected (by a computer). This Sprint may bring a slightly higher than usual load on your servers for the duration, but BOINCGames.com is still under BETA testing and the particpiation level is still relatively low. This is just a heads-up that you might want to ensure there is enough work for the participants if your project is selected. |

I just had to suspend NFS because it wasn't letting anything else run. Soon as I did that BOINC downloaded task from the other projects and started working on them immediately. |

Why does NFS@Home not work well with others? Anytime I add this project it dominates the CPU cycles and doesn't let anything else run, ever. Currently I am trying to fluctuate between LHC, WEP and NFS, but NFS is not letting the former two run at all. Nada. Zilch. Also the reporting time for NFS seems to be outrageous. Some tasks are claiming a few hours for completing while others are claiming months (60 days) before they complete. This can't be accurate. If NFS can't behave with other projects I am going to be forced to abandon it. |
