Greg, Do I read this that it's an unsupported op code in the CPU itself, so situation will exist with any 64bit OS because either 64b app uses the pre-fetch (Win or Linux)? Just hoping to get this clear in my head. Thanx.

An xmalloc error indicates that BOINC thinks there is sufficient free memory for the workunit to run but there's actually not. That lasievee workunit requires at least 350-400 MB of memory to run. If your computer does not have at least this much free memory, then NFS@Home is not a good project for that computer.


OK, thanx. That machine might have been a quirk or maybe something was going on that was using more than it's fair share at the momement. It's a quad with 2GB so in theory it should have 'nuff.

Will check 'em again in the daylight.
