I'm new to this project (old-timer on WCG), and really I don't understand the explanation of it, but then I don't have to. But what I haven't seen is the purpose -- what does all the number-crunching lead to, beyond mathematical understanding and progress (whatever that is)? I mean, what good is it for humanity and its myriad problems? Sorry if I'm asking in the wrong venue -- I'd post this in chat but apparently I don't have enough "credits" and I might "abuse" chat. Right -- I live to abuse chats. I just started NFS late today and I've got about 8 hours in 8 tasks. And I don't seem to be able to get any tasks from any of the six other projects I'm signed up for. So...here I am...wondering.
