Message 1812 - Posted: 6 Dec 2017, 15:32:50 UTC

It's been over 6 weeks since 6,391- was finished.
Is there any progress on 6,394+ etc. ?

Just curious.

At the moment sieving 7,833M (queued 7,847L) so I suppose the others are in post-processing stage but only Greg can verify.

I also see that lasievef has started sieving numbers that
are not even listed on the status page.....

Perhaps communications might be improved????

Message 1822 - Posted: 20 Dec 2017, 14:53:34 UTC - in response to Message 1821.

To All:

My posts are not just idle curiosity. I run ECM on the
first 5 Cunningham holes, and I don't want to waste time
running trials on numbers being run by NFS@Home....
I have too little resources as it is.

To All:

Two weeks, 120+ views, and no replies since my last post.

Is my request for improved communications/status info so
unreasonable??

I see that 6,394+ has been factored. (in factordb)

It has not been announced here or reported to Sam Wagstaff.

The penultimate factor has only 63 digits, so I wonder
if it were found by ECM rather than NFS@Home and then
not reported to Sam.

Message 1831 - Posted: 22 Jan 2018, 13:54:06 UTC - in response to Message 1826.

It is now 3 months since the last entry in https://escatter11.fullerton.edu/nfs/numbers.html

I also see that no one else has responded to these
messages. Am I so wrong in my request for improved
communications? Does no one else have anything to say?

I have been running ECM (500 curves; the limit of my
available resources) with B1 = 3 x 10^9 on the first
5 holes in the base 2 tables. I am about to start 2,1052+.
(to be followed by 2,1072+). I just finished a pass through the
first 5 holes of the 2LM table. I am skipping 2,1033+ and
2,1037+ in anticipation that these will be done sometime in
the near future.

I prefer to skip this number if there is any indication
that it will be added to the lasievef 16e queue in the near
future. This is why I am being a "pain-in-the-ass" in my
request for better feedback.

I note that two numbers are in progress that are not even listed
on the status page.....

Sorry Robert, but the 16e queue is managed by Greg himself and he is a very busy man.
You do have a point that communication for the 16e queue could be improved (for the 14e and 15e the status pages are well maintained by Tom and a few others).
