xmalloc: Cannot allocate memory called boinc_finish

EXAMPLE

Once upon a time, long, long ago there was a message board you could actually enter messages on.

"Free software” is a matter of liberty, not price. To understand the concept, you should think of “free” as in “free speech”, not as in “free beer"

UPDATE:
Hmmm, just attached a Q9550 with 4GB, 64b Ubuntu and it seems OK a WU is running and is well past the short period where the other machine was other machine was trashing the WU.

But wait... now the 'bad' machine has found 1 it likes... strange that it crapped out 20 WUs in rapid fire and now finds one it likes? Attached some more .... will check them tomorrow.

An xmalloc error indicates that BOINC thinks there is sufficient free memory for the workunit to run but there's actually not. That lasievee workunit requires at least 350-400 MB of memory to run. If your computer does not have at least this much free memory, then NFS@Home is not a good project for that computer.

OK, thanx. That machine might have been a quirk or maybe something was going on that was using more than it's fair share at the momement. It's a quad with 2GB so in theory it should have 'nuff.

Will check 'em again in the daylight.
